Job Description:
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or
Acute Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the ICU department at
Health Alliance Hudson Valley in Kingston, NY.Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed and accurate history and physical examinations
of patients.
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests based on patients' history,
examination, signs, and symptoms.
- Recognize abnormalities in test results (lab, radiology, EKG)
and take appropriate treatment actions, consulting with physicians
when necessary.
- Provide appropriate patient instructions and counseling.
- Initiate and facilitate referral or transfer of patients to
other medical facilities for further medical care, under the
consultation of physicians.
- Ensure proper documentation in the medical record, including
history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment records,
condition on discharge, patient instructions, and follow-up.
- Manage medical, surgical, and trauma issues in a timely and
appropriate manner.
- Act rapidly and effectively in emergency situations, managing
both patients and other employees.
- Perform phlebotomies and IV access as needed.
- Demonstrate proficiency in intubation techniques.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement program as requested by
the Medical Director.Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Physician Assistant or
Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in the State of New
York.
- Two (2) years minimum in Critical Care.
- BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications.
