OverviewThe Associate Director of Development II (ADoD II) is based
in the Puget Sound region of western Washington and reports to the
Alaska Director of Philanthropy while maintaining a strong
connection to the Washington chapter. The ADoD II is focused on
growing the philanthropic support for TNC's important conservation
work in Alaska in Seattle and across the country; they will be
responsible for direct asks to both global and local priorities to
meet funding needs. The individual will work closely with TNC
development colleagues to build/manage a portfolio of major donors,
create and implement effective multi-year strategies for gift
prospects, and will work closely with other TNC fundraising staff
to grow donor relationships for TNC Alaska. The ADoD II will
primarily focus fundraising efforts in the Puget Sound area and
occasionally throughout the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and other
parts of the U.S.The Associate Director of Development II is
responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of qualified
donors and building strong relationships. They understand and apply
complex principles of developing donor strategies. They can discuss
assets and listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or other
non-cash gifts, such as planned gifts and trade lands. The ADoD II
provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition and
increase future giving. They involve and engage appropriate
partners in the field and at the Worldwide Office, keeping them
apprised of interactions, issues and/or concerns, and address
questions as needed. They can feature the programs of the
Conservancy in detailed terms and can confidently discuss legacy
giving opportunities. The ADoD II understands project budgets and
may build proposal budgets utilizing this knowledge. They will
develop a referral network as needed and may manage formal and/or
informal networks of volunteers. They will be required to use the
Conservancy's donor database and may develop proposals. They will
travel frequently and on short notice, work long and flexible hours
as needed. The work environment may involve infrequent exposure to
disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or
strain.Salary range in Seattle: $102,000 - $120,000 annuallySalary
range in other Puget Sound Region locations: $95,000 - $110,000
annually
