Section Manager to oversee and guide its Engineering Records, and
GIS sections. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to

Manager, your top priorities will include ensuring the protection
of SPU's assets by collaborating with City Light, Parks, and SDOT
to establish standards, procedures, and agreements. You'll play a
crucial role in conflict resolution at the project level, while
providing strategic direction to two functional teams and promoting

ResponsibilitiesThe top three priorities for this position are:
- Ensure documentation of SPU's assets in digital, hard copy, and
geospatial formats is created and maintained by working
collaboratively with SDCI, SDOT, and SPU internal workgroups.
Develop standards, procedures and agreements.
- Provide effective direction and oversight of business functions
of the two primary functional teams in the section ensuring key
performance indicators are met and workplans are completed
effectively.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for the
section where all members are supported and teams function to their
highest potential.Day-to-day job duties include:
- Provide overall management of the Engineering Records and GIS
functions of ETSD and assure efficient, effective, and equitable
delivery of its services.
- Supervise and provide managerial oversight of the work of two
direct reports including one manager and one strategic
advisor.
- Work with section leadership to develop annual workplans and
key performance indicators and ensure satisfactory completion of
both.
- Assist the ETSD Director in the development and management of
O&M and project budgets, work plans, workload management,
support of ETSD management team efforts, special initiatives, and
issues that come up that require support from the position, or
other work as assigned.
- Participate as an active member of the ETSD Managers Team and
Leadership Team.
- Work to resolve workplace conflict or disciplinary issues,
engaging the Director and/or Human Resources as appropriate.
- Coordinate with other work groups in ETSD, SPU, and other City
Departments as needed to facilitate successful projects, programs,
workload balancing, and issues resolution.
- Ensure that supervisors and staff have the training, equipment,
and resources they need to perform their duties efficiently; ensure
that all required training is completed by established

with or without notice.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree
in library sciences, GIS, or related field.OREducation/Experience
Equivalency: 2 additional years of related work
experience.Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in
engineering or technical records archiving, and retrieval,
geographical information systems, and engineering plan review.
Three or more years of supervisory experience.Additional
InformationThis position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid
work schedule. Starting November 4, 2024, City employees will have
the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules
will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.Who may
